For over 30 years Bart Lanman has worked closely with business owners and their staff to help them solve the day to day and year to year challenges of running a successful enterprise. The length and strength of his client relationships is reflective of his personal approach and genuine concern for his clients. While working with a wide range of clients Bart’s focus has been on tax and business planning in the real estate and medical professional fields. His breadth of knowledge and experience in these areas allows him to offer practical effective solutions to tax and business issues.
Bart started his career in 1978 and spent the next 28 years with a firm that ultimately became Farren, Lanman & Associates, LLC. In 2006, after a thorough two year search, he merged his practice with Squire, Lemkin & Co. In 2014, Bart became the firm’s managing partner.
In August 1980 Bart became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1990 he completed the education and certification requirements to become a Certified Financial Planner™. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Maryland Association of CPA’s. He was an active member of the Greenbelt Rotary Club for many years and currently volunteers at various charitable events.
Bart has provided a wide range of tax accounting and business consulting services to a cross section of Washington area small and medium size for profit and not for profit businesses.
Bart has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Benjamin Franklin University and stays up to date through continuing professional education in his practice areas. He was born and raised in Kensington Maryland and has lived in Silver Spring for over 28 years. He enjoys spending time with his wife, son and two daughters at their place in the Outer Banks whenever time permits.
